Our review

The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel has really considered its market position and, with a clearly defined strategy, has positioned itself as centre of excellence.

As well as a first class product in terms of hotel service, the hotel is also now equipped with cutting-edge technology and boasts the most ample space for a conference hotel of its size. The breakout areas are well defined, spacious and filled with natural sunlight. By extension, the aptly named conference gardens allow an organiser to utilise a real ‘health and well-being’ aspect to their conference programme.

The hotel operates uniquely as part of the Golden Jubilee NHS trust and although it operates on a ‘not for profit’ model it has nevertheless established a purely commercial approach to its business that would belie it’s status.

The advantage of being to retain the profit and re-invest in the product offering is apparent for all to see. The cutting AV technology and presentation rooms in the main foyer area are absolutely some of the best in the UK. But the care and attention of the conference offering goes much further, as the hotel even posts regular conference blogs on their website.

Bronagh Bell, the Hotel Director, explained the logic and desire behind the teams drive:

“Meeting the priorities of both conference organisers and delegates is a careful balancing act, but delivering fantastic customer and guest satisfaction is a tightrope which all expert venues need to walk! As any experienced Professional Conference Organiser will tell you, you need to be a ringmaster to make your event go without — or with — a hitch! Whether you are an "in house" organiser or from one of the many dedicated companies who specialise in delivering events, you need to pack your trunk expertly to ensure you meet the requirements of your clients.”

The commitment to their conference blog shows evidence of a total approach to conference business with further blogs highlighting the advantages of combining the ‘health and well being’ aspects of improving the delegate journey, be it through the food experience or the benefit of utilising the conference gardens.

The recently refurbished bedrooms have a quality, contemporary design and presentation with an sleek, stylish feel to both the bedroom and bathroom offering.

The future investment plans is sure to keep this hotel at the top of the conference game in Scotland for many years to come.
